Despite popular opinion of Southern California style being anything more than flipflops and sweatpants, Prét-à-Porter night at Orange County Fashion Week proved completely otherwise. Works of art everywhere.
Among the center grounds of fashion weeks that have dominated social media, New York, London, Milan, little old Orange County was reigning in its local community. Nestled in the architecturally awing yet never before heard of Soka University (hidden behind the winding roads of residential Aliso Viejo), was Prét-à-Porter night back on September 18th at Soka Founder’s Hall. On a side note, I’d like to thank the fashion world for running equally as late as I did that night.
Between the themes of street style to Fall ‘15 that are reminiscent of most Fashion Weeks, the attention of detail that came with this couture collection was definitely my favorite. Despite popular opinion of Southern California style being anything more than flip flops and sweatpants, Prét-à-Porter night at OCFW proved completely otherwise. Works of art everywhere. Watch our space, world.
Here are a few looks from the night, featuring looks from designers Coral Castillo, Charmaine Joie Couture, Cheri Elizabeth, Marc Aaron Bright, Jonathan Jimenez, Yesenia Hernandez, and Berenice Gonzalez.
