To the geographies that shape us… Shot in LA, reminiscent of Punjab ᛨ

In creative directing this @imagine5_official shoot, one of the major things I wanted to communicate is our connection to land via culture, so we sought out geographies + visual motifs that held a deeper cultural significance.

This year’s rains brought out mustard blooms like crazy in Los Angeles, reminding me of Punjab’s yellow mustard fields (even tho they’re invasive here lol rip)

I always cite culture as my impetus for sustainability… so much of my cultural identity has taught lessons on land stewardship, resourcefulness, to an appreciation for craft. Forever and always, it’s our cultures that provide the blueprint for sustainability.

For styling, I wore this beautiful set made from deadstock fabric from Multan, Punjab by @znali.co ❤️

A peacock crashed our @imagine5_official magazine shoot in the canyons of Los Angeles and it was MAGICAL 🦚

Earlier last month, I had the opportunity to creative direct & style this editorial with the 5 media team it was so incredibly special–

Shot across multiple geographies in Los Angeles, in a series of looks championing homegrown brands.

For my Angelinos 🤍

A beautiful day at @Ciclavia was a reminder of what an alternative future can look like if we embraced ideals of climate justice– from free native plants + compost being passed out to the community, roads filled with bikers of every age, and diverse neighbors coming together for joy. It’s no wonder that the theme of the event was climate action ✨

Solving the climate crisis will take more than just avoiding making things worse. It’ll take making things better. That means empowering everyone with the knowledge, tools, and resources they need to thrive in a changing world– especially in our own immediate, local communities.

@Dashboard.Earth is an app focusing on Los Angeles because LA County is the most climate-vulnerable county in the country. And we know that it’s low-income Black and brown communities that bear the brunt of environmental racism.

This app is rooted in providing resources to those that need it most– from local rebates, climate-friendly freebies like trees, and even direct payments– realigning incentives to support local community action. Be sure to check it out 🌳
